The Challenge

The Challenge

Mesh Learning is an Adelaide based business focused on tutoring students up to Year 12 in a variety of subjects. Mesh approached Lokava Software to take over a software project that was in the process of failing at the time. The project was hampered by bugs and non-functional elements, leaving the platform in a state of disarray. Lokava stepped in to perform an in-depth analysis of the state of the platform and subsequently advised our client about the state of affairs for the platform.

The Solution

The Solution

Based on this analysis, immediate steps taken were to try and resolve as many of the critical system bugs as soon as possible. As the bugs were eventually squashed, the Lokava team moved onto implementing new functionality at the request of our client. This was the pathway to getting the platform ready for the wider market. Development on various pieces of functionality and platform enhancements continued for some time wth our client using the product within his own tutoring business as well as with another organisation based in Nairobi. This testing and live use proved invaluable in terms of feedback and overall iteration of the product. Further functionality and improvements included, ability to copy question sets, student data import, a new maths editor function and currency question/answer support. This was further to numerous performance and UI related enhancements.

The Results

As of 2021, Mesh is on the verge of another major upgrade prior to a full fledged launch - the push into remote learning. This process has been accelerated by the demands of the Covid-19 pandemic. The student functionality that was primarily iPad based is now being developed for the web. This means that students can access question sets in a web browser which facilitates remote learning capabilities, thus expanding the platforms feature set even further.
