About Us – Lokava


Lokava (pronounced “Low-kah-vah”) is a software solutions and consulting company based in Sydney, Australia. Lokava was founded by two brothers who share a passion not only for technology, but also for solving real world problems faced by businesses and entrepreneurs. That’s why when you work with us, we get to the crux of WHY you are looking to build a solution, WHAT problem you are looking to solve and HOW best we can help you solve it. You’re probably thinking this sounds great.. But what does it actually mean?

Let’s dive into a real life example.

A client of ours approached us with an idea where employers in a niche industry needed to find high quality candidates to fill vacancies on short notice. An interesting idea - now it was Lokava’s turn to elevate this from an idea into a revenue generating product that delivered tangible value to both employers and job seekers.

The first question for our client was.. WHY?

Employers in this industry are notoriously time poor and require a very specific set of skills from their candidates. Existing solutions did not provide employers with an efficient means of filtering candidates with the required skills.

WHAT would a compelling solution need to provide?

After learning more about these employers’ day to day experiences, we realised that speed and an intuitive user experience was a key factor in this solution being successful. We also needed an accurate matching algorithm that paired candidates with appropriate vacancies based on their skill set. The culmination of this process was to present the employer with a simple way to screen potential candidate profiles and make the right decision quickly.

HOW did we achieve this?

With employers being time poor, speed was crucial. Competing services were all website based with poor user experiences. They were nowhere near as fast as they needed to be. For this reason we decided the best path was to build a mobile app. Employers could use the app on the go to quickly list vacancies or review candidate profiles. We allowed both employers and job seekers to specify their skills from a pre-determined list and used this as a basis for our matching algorithm.

Finally with a simple swipe, an Employer could shortlist candidates for a job vacancy. The candidates would receive a push notification informing them of the shortlisting. After assessing the shortlisted candidates, the Employer could then pick one candidate to hire who would also be notified via push notification. Quick. Simple. Easy.
